God can use even an earache

I'm not a fan of going to the doctor but I'll go if I think it's something that could be serious. I woke up Saturday with a sore right ear. It progressed and was worse the next day. I went online to self diagnose and each time it said something to the effect of "see your doctor immediately!" On Sunday night, I had pretty intense pain and couldn't sleep well. I wasn't sure if I got bit by a spider while sleeping or what was happening - it's better to be safe than sorry, so when Monday morning rolled around I went to the doctor.

I had the doc check out my hands, too. They've been extremely dry and irritated. I think it's due to my constant cleaning and washing of dishes - I like to keep a tidy house and it's starting to show on my hands. Upon leaving, he gave me a summary and said "Your ear canal is irritated and you have an infection but I'll give you drops and you should be fine. Also, I'll prescribe cream for your hands". Nothing serious. That was good news.

My primary doc was not available but this new doctor was very patient and thorough with me. As he began to exit the door I reached into my handbag and gave him one of Ray Comfort's money gospel tracts and said, "Thanks so much! Make sure you read the back, it has a gospel message." He smiled and seemed to appreciate it. Within 5 minutes his assistant came in and handed me a sheet that had the "patient instructions on it". I put it in my purse and later read it in the car. It said:

  • Based on your visit today, your provider recommended the following:
    1. Take the ear drops as directed.
    2. Use the cream twice a day and use Vaseline based hand lotion after bathing
    3. Thanks for the message!

Glad it was nothing serious! Praise God for moving us to various places we wouldn't otherwise go.

You gave an example to the admonition, "always being ready...". Thanks for the narrative.

By the way, I had some things recommended to me that do not have alcohol in them, and most of the commercial products do have it. One is called Aquaphor, the other is a lotion called Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula. Not cheap, but you're in a position that you want results, yes?

P.S. I'm just glad the doc didn't say, #3 "FIND ANOTHER DOCTOR!"

You wont believe this..but something similar happened to me on Sunday. I had to go train an oral surgery office that we opened in Michigan, somehow I pulled my neck extremely bad with my carry on bag. I couldnt believe it. It got worse and I woke up Monday morning and could barely move the head/neck. I kept telling my husband...what is the point in this? I know God has allowed this for a reason, but I wonder what it is. So he found me a medical massage therapist in Michigan where we were. She worked me in last minute and stayed late for me...she helped relieve the intense pain. I stopped to witness and said that we had prayed that day for an answer to this pain and we believe we were led to her clinic. I gave her a million dollar bill tract and told her to read it and she said thank you and you could tell we had made an impact with the power of the Holy Spirit guiding us. I agree...the pain is worth it, if it gets you to someone that needed to hear the gospel!
