Feeling down? Why don't you take an hour and do this...

Pick some flowers...

Grab the kids...

Find a local nursing home...

Bring joy to a dark place...

Let them smell the flowers.

Share the Everlasting Gospel...

with those whose heads hang low...

"Pure and undefiled religion in the
sight of our God and Father is this...

....to visit orphans and widows in their distress,
and to keep oneself unstained by the world." James 1:27
I can guarantee you will be blessed by the time you leave...

...and so will they.

Special thanks to my dear friends Damion and Julie
at HisCreations for providing these photos for my blog.
These photos are precious. They remind me of
decades ago when I was little and my dad
took me to see my great grandmother.
Thanks for capturing such wonderful moments.

"I'm in the middle between being a Christian and a Catholic"...

Victoria was on The first hour of The Way of the Master Radio
last Thursday and the follow-up with Victoria "Vickie" went well.
At first she said she was a Christian but after she got off
the air with Ray Comfort she explained a little more...

"I go to Saint Patricks Cathedral a Catholic church
but I've been wanting to leave the Catholic faith
because I've been struggling through some of their beliefs...
so right now I'm in the middle between being a
Christian and a Catholic."

I had a guest join me from McKinney, TX.
Paige (below and right) listens to The Way of the Master Radio daily
and heard that I lived in area.
We had met briefly once before at Transformed in Dallas...
So she emailed me and we met at the mall really
for what seemed like the first time.
We hit it off right away. She and her husband own a
wonderful sub shop called New York Sub-Hub
and she took a break from a busy day at work
to drive over an hour just to join me for phone fishing.
We had a blast together! Paige helped to follow-up with Victoria
and did a wonderfully thorough job.

We made sure to communicate with Victoria the
seriousness of violating the commandments of God and
how she could be forgiven only by
repenting and putting her faith in Christ.

To listen to the broadcast you can click on August 21, 2008 - Hour 1
it starts about 40 minutes into the program.

A toss up between mother and daughter

It was hard for me to choose between mother
and daughter for the second segment of
The Way of the Master Radio this past Thursday.
Crystal (left) was searching different religions
and Sherry (right, Crystal's mom) was a Catholic
that "sometimes goes to church". I choose to
hand the cell phone to Sherry for the segment.
And while Sherry was on the air with Todd, I
shared the Gospel with Crystal.

After the program, I made sure that Sherry and her daughter
understood the differences between Catholics and Christians namely,
the sufficiency and authority of Scripture, how one is saved, etc.
They listened and seemed to understand
what the Bible taught about how we can be forgiven.
I explained that their works of righteousness
cannot justify them but Christ can and we are to base
our faith solely in the fact that we are “justified as a gift by
His grace through the redemption which is in
Christ Jesus, whom God displayed as a propitiation
in His blood through faith.
” (Romans 3:24-25).

The Catholic doctrine of purgatory is another difference,
plus the fact that Catholics believe that man must
or even can pay or make satisfaction for his own sins
is totally contrary to scripture! Yikes!

God saves us, “not on the basis of deeds
which we have done in righteousness, but according
to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and
renewing by the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out
upon us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior,
so that being justified by His grace we would be made
heirs according to the hope of eternal life
” (Titus 3:5-7).

I showed them the pink and blue gospel tracts.

She and her daughter seemed very grateful.
I pleaded with the ladies that their was
nothing more important than living for Christ and
trusting in Him alone for their forgiveness.
I can only hope that they cry out to God for their eternal salvation!

The broadcast starts about 20 minutes into the program.

Trish, The Way of the Master Radio and Jim McGhee (Catholic Priest)

This is Jim McGhee before he was on the air for The Way of the Master Radio last Thursday. He is a priest at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic church, the largest Catholic parish in Fort Worth.
This is Jim after he got off of the program (see right photo).

He was not very happy after he got off the phone with Ray Comfort and Todd Friel.

Jim's face was bright red, my phone was filled with sweat, and he didn't like the fact that Ray and Todd wanted to talk about justification by faith alone. He told me that Martin Luther was a rebel and that he (Luther) should have stayed with the Catholic (Mother) church. To Jim, Protestants were not part of the "true" church. This didn't surprise me one bit. I knew what I was getting into.

We went back and forth, for a long time disagreeing on many things. To say the least, we came to the conclusion to agree to disagree on many doctrinal issues. What else could we do!? I wasn't going to compromise on clear doctrinal issues. One point was very clear, the Bible was not Jim's final authority and tradition is huge in the Catholic church.

By the end of the day, he didn't look to unhappy and surprisingly he invited me back. (see photo, right)

I might make a trip their this week with a big basket of fruit as a way of thanking him for being on the program. I think I'll talk with him some more and take my husband with me :-)
