World Champion Wrestler Converts to Christianity

This past weekend at the "Deeper Conference" Emilio and I were in the speakers greenroom enjoining a meal as Ray Comfort walks in with this rather large gentleman. "Robbie, I'd like you to meet the Living Waters staff." Ray said. Then he quickly stuck out his chest and held up his arms and pretended to flex his muscles and added, "Staff, meet my twin brother Robbie!"

I spent some time with Robbie around the dinner table as he shared his testimony. Little did I know that he was going to be featured on CBN this week - how cool, huh. Robbie's a great brother...and did I mention that he has solid doctrine, too - this is always breath of fresh air.
Enjoy this short clip of our brother...

WOW, what an wonderful testimony! He even looks like a new man. In the pictures and video of him before his salvation his anger showed in his face. It is truly amazing how God transforms lives.

Susan,

"He even looks like a new man. In the pictures and video of him before his salvation his anger showed in his face".

You mean the videos where he's wrestling with the stage name; 'Robbie Rage'? Yes, he does look angry there, doesn't he - can't imagine why!

And now he's not wrestling and he's wondering through a lovely garden and sitting in his living room, he looks all calm and peaceful; that's some kind of crazy magick I tellsya!

Too funny ;)

Thanks be to God he turned his life around before it was too late.

Trish how do you define "solid doctrine" and how do you determine one "has it"?

It' the entire package...his testimony AND his countenance...it's a transformation not to be taken lightly. God has incredible power and amazing love that cannot be ignored!
True peace and joy can only come from God!

I agree. The love letter is the Bible.

I think he looks like he has much more peace in his life too.

Solid doctrine is determined by scripture, and one has it when one agrees with the general consent of the universal Church. None of this is relevant to the Roman Catholic Church (which John Owen appropariately called oxy-moronic).

Javy, out of the wood works. Surprised to hear from you as you never chimed in to aide Trish in answering a comment/question I left on her blog post about Joel Osteen's church.

Anyhow I don't remember asking how this post has any relevance to the Catholic church or care to know what John Owen thought of the Catholic church...but thanks for sharing - you're always so great about sharing your anti-catholicism.

So keeping to the topic at hand and your response...I'm confused how solid doctrine is determined by scripture - whose interpretation of scripture? And let me get this straight you must agree to a general consent (now that's dangerous) of the universal church? Some may try to describe the universal church as the invisible church. The universal church is never described in scripture as invisible, and surely it was not meant to be invisible. So how does one determine you belong to this "universal church"?

My original question was just sparked from Trish's post as I was just curious how she got to know this Wrestler so very well over a conference weekend to "know" this about him.

I don't even know this man and while I would probably talk with him more before I invited him behind a pulpit, it certainly seems from the video his doctrine is sound. Listen to his words. He discussed sin, dying to self, material possessions do not matter, God saved him, etc.

These words alone are so much different than what I typically hear from the American Christian. That is likely what Trish is talking about.
