Enter to WIN a FREE copy of “A Hunger for God”.

Enter to WIN a copy of "A Hunger for God" written by John Piper. This book has encouraged me to have a hunger for God more than anything else in life--I would like one of you to have a copy of it.

Here's what Desiring God has to say about this book:

"A Hunger For God was written to help Christians understand the Biblical nature and purpose of fasting and prayer. In this book, John Piper looks at the phenomena of religious, political, and health-based fasting, which occur around the world, and explains what makes Christian fasting unique. He then discusses the reasons and ways the Bible commends fasting to us. Ultimately, Piper asserts, fasting is a way of expressing to God that he is the supreme hunger of our hearts—that we are starving for him."

Here is what to do: Leave a comment below with your name and some way for me to contact you if you win (email or blog link is fine). Comments will be opened through next Monday and a winner will be randomly chosen next Tuesday. Open to U.S. residents only.

hi trish i just wanted to tell you that your site has been helpful when it comes to quick and easy ways to give out tracts and keep them on me.
a book that will encourage my hunger for God? that sounds AWESOME! although it has only been recently that i've heard anything of John Piper's i already know that he one brings new/better/deeper understanding to lots of things. plus fasting has always been something that i rarely hear about (except for during Ramadan when i see Muslims moping about).

Me me me! Please pick me me me!

How about if I grovel? "Please oh please oh please oh please."

What about shameless flattering? "Your site is the best and you deserve to get more Internet visitors than google."

What about a guilt trip? "I'm a father of four, and we are so poor and cold that I need the book so that after I'm done reading it, I can use it as kindle to keep my babies warm and alive."

Is any of this working???

Thanks!

I love what you do! You have encouraged me so many times. One thing lately that really spoke into my life was a girl who had to confront her friend about the way she started living. I need to do the same even if it costs me that friendship. Thanks for serving Him

Trish, thanks for the generous offer. I love your two minute tips! You have helped me to be a bolder (but not bold enough) witness--I can't wait to meet you at the May Ambassadors' Alliance training.

I was impressed yesterday that we really do not know when we will die and how important it is to witness. One of my neighbors that I witnessed to a week ago for the School of Biblical Evangelism graduation requirements died yesterday. I don't think she was saved (at least not when we talked), but at least she heard the gospel.

Keep on fishin'!

Hi J&B you asked if livingwaters have any plans to put out a dvd for children or if I do...not that I am aware of. Sorry I couldn't be of more help

Brian, congrats of the engagement I am thrilled to hear this! Great meeting you in St. Louis

Lindam, I am so sorry to hear about your neighbor but praise God you shared the Gospel with her. I received a phone call yesterday from a good friend and she explained that one of her friend’s, out of the blue, collapsed to the ground and was pronounced dead in just 2 minutes. I think about death every day—you just never know when it will come knocking on your door. Thank you for reading my blog and for realizing how urgent it is to share your faith!

Thank you everyone for you wonderful comments! It really means a lot!

Hi Trish. It is really encouraging everytime I hear you, Ray, and Todd fishing. My husband and I are trying to find ways to witness in a city that seems like there is hardly any place where you won't get kicked out. We have only had one chance to go out since we've met our friends and we do have a college campus nearby. We listen to a lot from John MacArthur, John Piper, etc. so I know this is a good gift. Thanks for the offer to everyone.
