Are you leaving this behind?

I have noticed frequently, individuals leaving their Bible's behind at church. In my last church, the staff filled an entire tub with at least 20 plus Bibles, a few jackets and other miscellaneous things that people had left behind. I got to thinking, "That's interesting, no one seems to leave their cell phone, i-pod, wallet, purse, or other "valuable" things....they cling to those tightly." Then I thought further, "I wonder if we place a higher value on these material things than we do the very treasure of God's Word.

My nine year old daughter has misplaced her bible and is crushed about it. We're looking everywhere.

I am so sorry to hear this Rob. I would be happy to send you a small paper back Evidence Bible free for her. :-)

If you are interested email me at email@fishwithtrish.com with your address and her name. Thanks!

I used to see this happen all the time in our own church! It is really bad when people have cell phones turned on during church and even worse when they sit in the pews during service, answer the phone and start talking quietly over the sermon!

on a side note, I need to move down to your area! This month has been so cold that we have not been able to get outside to do any street witnessing. I think the average temperature for this month has been about 12 degree's! For some reason, people don't want to stay outside and talk much! Thanks for your post! How much are the small paperback
Evidence Bibles? That might be something good for us to hand out.

Small Paperback Evidence Bibles are 5.99 if you order 5 or more and 9.99 if you order under 5. You can go to the Living Waters Store. Thanks.

And how often have we’ve left our Bibles behind in our everyday lives by not reading it daily, but rather rushing off to do what we deem to be more important things…

Gimme a break Trish!
I've done this a number of times, but not because my bible isn't precious to me.

I just lost my car keys two days ago, and they're precious to me too.

When you get to be my age, you'll understand.

I had another point too.. but I can't remember it.

Drat, where did I put my eyes?

Hi fjbrad, I have done this very thing a hand full of times as well (guess I should have mentioned that) That is why I wrote about it :-) Hope you have found your keys and your eyes :-)

Trish, between reading this post and commenting, I went to church on Sunday. We all turned to Mark 2 at the speaker's request, except for young Matt. He was pretty well behaved, but he didn't intend to read along. I had a chance to greet him during the normally-disruptive/annoying greeting time (I am praying about this). He was very direct as to why he didn't bring his bible that morning. He didn't think he'd need it. So I put a hand on each of his shoulders and told him, "For the rest of your LIFE, you bring your bible to church."
