On air with Wretched Radio Yesterday

I found Hala coming out of a Dollar General Store.

I introduced myself and after some small talk I asked, "Would you like to be on a Christian Radio program to talk about your faith?" "Sure." She kindly responded. "What religion are you?" I inquired. "I am a Muslim". She said.

Hala talks with Todd Friel on Wretched Radio.

Hala listens intently to Todd sharing the Gospel.

After she got off the phone we pretty much had to agree to disagree. She told me that she was a different type of Muslim. "I believe that as long as you have God or believe in a god than you are fine...and I also don't believe that Jesus had to die on the cross." She explained.
We shared with Hala that the bible documents that Jesus did have to go to the cross and die but that He is alive today - he has risen from the dead. We continued to share all of the good news and we gave her invites to Sovereign Joy and tracts. She invited us over to our home. Oh and did I mention that it's always nice to have Emilio witnessing with me (he's really good at talking with Muslims - I learn a lot from him).

Meet Chris. He was on Hour 2 of Wretched Radio.

Chris laughs with Todd on air. Todd's a very funny guy.

Chris said that he was a Christian but when I asked him, "Chris, say I was a Muslim...why would I want to switch to your Christian religion?"
"I don't know." He answered honestly as he shrugged his shoulders.
"I think that as long as you have a god than you'll be fine" He continued.
Chris also shared that he was going through a separation and that he had two small kids (this broke my heart).

I wish I could zoom in on this picture (below) of Chris's eyes. He really looks like he's understanding what Todd is saying.

After Chris got of the air he was very grateful and wanted to listen to more of what Emilio and I had to say. We invited him to church to talk more and we hope that he'll take us up on the offer. As he walked away he said, "Thank you for doing this today."

Chris, if you're reading this...we'd love to see you at Sovereign Joy someday. Thank you for being on the air. And Hala, if you're reading this...that goes for you too. :-)

An atheist makes a way for the Gospel to be heard

Last Thursday my friends Jon Speed and Tim Crawford headed up to the University of North Texas to share their faith. Prior to going, they put in for a free speech permit two months ago and The Dean of Students Office honored the permit for the 19th. But with in that 2 month period UNT changed their free speech policy - so after the 19th UNT won't allow any open-air preachers on campus unless they have a sponsoring student organization.

On Thursday, Jon preached for the last time on the Sovereignty of God and how God is Sovereign even when He allows the UNT administration to change their free speech policy so that open-air preachers cannot come on campus without a sponsoring student organization.

After he finished, a young atheist man named Stewart who they have witnessed to several times and who was on Wretched Radio with me in February of this year (you might remember him from my "Stewart has a problem" video) asked Jon about what he was saying with regard to the free speech policy. Jon explained as Stewart listened, "The Dean of Students office will not allow us back on the campus without student group sponsorship and that most Christian student groups don’t like to be aligned with open-air preaching (or any evangelism for that matter)".

Stewart left, made a phone call, and came back and said that he has a secular student organization that would be willing to sponsor Jon and Tim's ministry and that he would be willing to be the contact person backing them. He gave them his phone number and the authorization to put the student organization name on the application!

I was so filled with joy when I heard this!

In other words, an atheist is helping Christians so that they can continue to preach at UNT!

Stewart told Jon, "I don’t agree with your message, but I hate to see anyone’s right to free speech taken away. You have the right to be heard."

Isn't this wonderful!

In Jon's words, "Our Sovereign God is able to use atheists to keep the gospel coming to UNT."

Back on Wretched Radio and the words you DON'T want to hear...

This past Wednesday, if you tuned in, you may have heard my phone fishing segments on Wretched Radio. It was sort of like a big reunion. Ray Comfort was there, Tony was on air and of course Freakishly Tall Todd was there as usual -what a blessing to be on the program! It was a blast.

Tye was on hour 1
Tye listened to Todd and Ray intently... he ran off quickly before I was able to follow up with him but Todd and Ray said he sounded pretty impacted by hearing the good news of the gospel.
Rosalinda was happy to be on Hour 2 of Wretched...
But when Ray Comfort began talking about the 10 commandments...her face changed.

She was quite upset when she got of the phone. She felt that Ray and Todd were "judging" her. So Emilio and I followed up with her. We explained the gospel to her and that Ray and Todd don't judge anyone but they encourage you to look into God's mirror to judge yourself and see how you measure up before a Holy God. After a while she seemed to understand.

Her last words before we walked away where the words that I didn't want to hear...she said, "You know what...I'm not ready to walk with God and live for Him...I'm living for myself right now!" My heart just broke when I heard those words roll off her tounge. So Emilio and I pleaded with her that she may not have tomorrow and urged her to "repent today and consider all we said".

I gave her a big hug right before we left.

BBC airs program about a young girl who loves to evangelize

The BBC recently aired a documentary called Deborah 13: Servant of God. It's about Deborah Drapper a homeschooled 13 year old Christian girl who is unlike most teenagers. She loves to share her faith. She has a clear understanding that time is short here on earth and that eternity is forever. She even uses some of my favorite tracts while she's out on the streets. :-)

Deborah emailed me a while back about this upcoming broadcast and for the past couple of days we've been talking back and forth via email. She is a precious young lady. Today she emailed and shared how she has been flooded with so many emails that she doesn't know what to with all of them. One email was from a gentleman who wrote to her dad after watching the program. Here's what he writes:

"Recently, I have become more and more aware of my "Sins" and my need to be saved, this awareness has been made all the stronger by my health problems. Also, I feel as though something is missing in my life, something that cannot be filled by anything worldly. Most of all, I am starting to realize how much control I have been holding onto in my life, I have completely failed to recognize God's rights over my life. Maybe this heart problem is just a wakeup call. I am ready now, to give my life to God, to do whatever God directs me to do, and go wherever he wants me to go."

Please pray for Deborah, her dad (Andrew) and her entire family as this broadcast has opened up wonderful doors for them to proclaim the gospel.

I watched the entire 6 part series this morning and thought you would be encouraged by it as well. If you're in the U.K you can view it HERE (For 6 days only). And if you're in the U.S. you can view it here (in 6 parts):
Here is part 1 of 6:

He turned right to John

Dinah is the first young man that you'll see in this video who is "sort of Buddhist" and delivers donuts to local churches every Sunday but has never been witnessed to. He was on Wretched Radio last Thursday. Donovan, a mix between an atheist and Christian, was on Hour 2 and is engaged to be married, He was on his way to buy a Harley when I met up with him. Watch what happens as I hand Dinah a Bible.

What Happened on Darwin's Birthday?

While atheists were rejoicing over the 200th year anniversary of Darwin's birth, these two young men were hearing the everlasting gospel of Jesus Christ on Wretched Radio. It was a good day. First meet Sterling, a "Christian" who says he "is going to Purgatory". After he spoke with Todd Friel, Sterling was very moved by the gospel. He asked me to turn off the camera and could barely speak...he was overwhelmed by what he heard. One thing he made very clear was that he was going "straight home" to think about everything.
Meet Steven, an agnostic who explains why he believed in evolution, which was perfect for the 200th birthday of Charles Darwin. Steven listened to me share the gospel with him after he got off the air but unfortunety he was bent with believing that his atheistic worldview was the only correct worldview. He wasn't as open-minded as I thought he would be. :-)

What one pastor told this young man to do! WHAT??

Meet Albert and Randy from last weeks phone fishing on
Wretched Radio--they had two totally
different reactions to the same Gospel message.

Cold Feet

I should have worn some tennis shoes and socks today but
it was worth having cold feet (literally) for the Gospel's sake.

Meet Josh (left) and Tyler (Right) they both are
REALLY tall...sort of like Todd Friel.
Speaking of Todd...I'll be seeing him this weekend in CA at
"Transformed" maybe I'll take a photo with him and
take one of my shoes off to see how tall he is.

Tyler was on Hour 1 of Wretched Radio.

Josh was on Hour 2 of Wretched Radio.

Not only did Tyler and Josh hear the
Gospel today...but so did all their friends.

Kristen (left) and Paige (middle) drove an hour just to
join me today for the radio...thanks girls for coming out!

Here's what Kristen has to say about what happened today: "Josh and Tyler were hesitant to talk at first, but then opened up a lot once all their friends started showing up. After talking to Ray they said they had never had the gospel presented to them "that way" and said it all made sense. We talked to their friends as well and they all said the same thing. If they haven't already repented and put their trust in Jesus I hope and pray they don't wait until it's too late."

And Paige said: "One by one Tyler's friends came from around the corner.....maybe they thought they would gather round to "save HIM from US"....little did they know were gonna get some good news to be saved themselves. In Josh's words, (from hour 2) "the gospel message is intense, and makes sense." Please pray for our youth. "

Yesterday on "Wretched Radio" I saw
three young people outside the mall.
Meet "T" and his girlfriend (Shate)
and cousin (Shantel). Both Shate and Shantel
are pregnant out of wed-lock.
"T" agrees to be on "Wretched Radio" to talk
about his religious thoughts.

"If you're gay I don't see why that automatically sends you to Hell."

Margarita and Brian were on "Wretched Radio" Thursday, Dec. 18th.

Extreme Home Makeover in Keller, TX (Update)

Extreme Home Makeover was in my neck of the woods yesterday
and it turned out to be a great day on "Wretched Radio" as well.
When I arrived on the site it looked like this (first photo below).
We didn't get an interview with one of the
my friend Gigi and I got to share the Gospel with
a lot of people including two individuals (James and J.L.).
The crowd went crazy for the camera crew.
James was on Hour 1 of Wretched Radio
he has been a firefighter for two years
with the Fort Worth Fire Department.
J.L. was on Hour 2 of Wretched Radio.
Today I opened The Keller Citizen
(a local newspaper that is delivered free every
Friday to those that live in the City of Keller)
you can see a photo of the Augustin family.
This was inside the newspaper
(the owner is walking with Ty Pennington)

More to come...we have footage to show you soon.

Extreme Makeover: Home Edition is in Keller, TX and you know what that means...

I'm going to attempt to go over to the site tomorrow and do what I call "Extreme Makeover Evangelism". :-)

I received a couple emails from friends saying, "Trish, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition is in Keller and they are helping out The Augustin family from Keller, TX and you should go phone fishing for "Wretched Radio"...

So, I took up the challenge and I'm going to go over to the construction site tomorrow for my phone fishing segment on "Wretched Radio". How could I not? It's practically happening in my back yard! I'm going to try to share the gospel with as many people as I possibly can.

But I thought I'd call the Media first to see if I could get an interview. And they gave me permission to come by and they are going to try to get me an interview with one or two of the Home Edition Team Members. Please keep this in prayer. You can tune in "live" tomorrow at WretchedRadio.com.

You can read more about The Augustin family from Keller, TX here.

Yesterday was a great day on "Wretched Radio"

Both Sierra and James were completely willing to repent and trust in the Lord. Watch this (you might have to turn the volume on the first portion up a bit) But Sierra really touched me...she said, "I think I need a new heart."

You can listen to both segments on Wretched Radio
