Merry Christmas, Trish! I'd just like to point out- I've read the Bible numerous times, and I don't see any indication that Christ was born on December 25th, or even that He was born in winter at all. Shepherds don't watch their flocks by night in winter in that part of the world, and probably didn't back then either.

In any case, I hope you and yours have a great holiday season!

Mr. Ziltch,
Glad to hear you’ve taken the time to read the all-time best seller. There are many good reasons for it being just that. It alone offers a reasonable explanation for the creation we see with our eyes and what we know in our heart and mind of His transcendent moral laws.

The birth of Jesus being off on the modern calendar by several months pales in comparison to the whole B.C. /A.D. calendar thingy being off by up to five years. Glad that has nothing to do with the historicity of the events described.

Also wish you had something other than tertiary issues to discuss. I’m sure you picked up on some of the major themes from your several reading s of the Bible. The more important stuff like, creation, prophecy, justice, mercy, total depravity, federal headship, substitutionary atonement, imputed righteousness, justification, sanctification, glorification, final judgment, eternal punishment, heaven, and the establishment of God’s Kingdom.
The only problem with the Bible is, whatever you go there looking for, you can find it! It does however, have the power to transform lives through the regenerating work of the Holy Spirit, and to make a believer out of the most committed skeptic.

That is my prayer for you Sir, that you keep reading God’s word and that God would grant you a new heart to know and to serve Him through faith and repentance.
May I suggest the Gospel of John, Acts of the Apostles and the letter to the Romans.

May you and your family have a Merry Christmas as we celebrate the birth of our Savior and Lord, whatever the actual date!
