Remember when we went to Europe to film 13 countries in 13 days for 13 episodes for The Way of the Master television program? Well, the moment we hit ground in London we were running lightening speed ahead. It was an adventure of a lifetime. This is the Amsterdam episode - the 4th country that we visited in our trip of 13 countries. Wait till you see what happens when Ray enters a rougher part of town known for the place to go to obtain drugs, legally. Amsterdam is also known as the gay and lesbian capital of Europe, and then there's the "Red Light District," with its legalized prostitution. In this episode you'll also see one of the greatest setbacks that we encountered that could have potentially ruined the whole tour. You'll learn the root cause of Europe's fall into atheistic humanism (my personal favorite part of the episode); and meet some interesting characters, in this fast-moving episode. Click HERE for a sneak preview of the episode.

God can use even an earache
I'm not a fan of going to the doctor but I'll go if I think it's something that could be serious. I woke up Saturday with a sore right ear. It progressed and was worse the next day. I went online to self diagnose and each time it said something to the effect of "see your doctor immediately!" On Sunday night, I had pretty intense pain and couldn't sleep well. I wasn't sure if I got bit by a spider while sleeping or what was happening - it's better to be safe than sorry, so when Monday morning rolled around I went to the doctor.
I had the doc check out my hands, too. They've been extremely dry and irritated. I think it's due to my constant cleaning and washing of dishes - I like to keep a tidy house and it's starting to show on my hands. Upon leaving, he gave me a summary and said "Your ear canal is irritated and you have an infection but I'll give you drops and you should be fine. Also, I'll prescribe cream for your hands". Nothing serious. That was good news.
My primary doc was not available but this new doctor was very patient and thorough with me. As he began to exit the door I reached into my handbag and gave him one of Ray Comfort's money gospel tracts and said, "Thanks so much! Make sure you read the back, it has a gospel message." He smiled and seemed to appreciate it. Within 5 minutes his assistant came in and handed me a sheet that had the "patient instructions on it". I put it in my purse and later read it in the car. It said:

- Based on your visit today, your provider recommended the following:
1. Take the ear drops as directed.
2. Use the cream twice a day and use Vaseline based hand lotion after bathing
3. Thanks for the message!

What Family Christian Store did about the sign
On Jan 5th I posted a blog about Family Christian Store in North Olmsted, Ohio and a sign that they were selling that replaced the word "he" for "she" in Luke 2:40.
If you didn't read it, click here and read this entry before reading the below: THIS was in a Christian bookstore? Yes
We received this email at Living Waters yesterday about the sign from Aaron K.

We received this email at Living Waters yesterday about the sign from Aaron K.
- Thought you might like to hear this news I received from my sister who is in upper management in the Family Christian Stores regarding the in...correctly quoted verses in the article released by Living waters named "Hard to Believe This One!" Newsletter January 10, 2011 regarding a product quoting scripture wrong.
Here is the email I received form her...
Thought you'd like to see this. Just got it in my work inbox...
The following announcement was just posted to the Intranet - please ensure all stores comply immediately.
Title: 01.11.11 Store Announcement - Immediate Action to remove product from sales floor
Body: Due to Scripture being incorrectly quoted, on the products below, all stores should immediately remove them from the sales floor and hold in the back room for further instruction:
SKU 1157640 - PLQ-For This Child-Blue 24x7.5
SKU 1157641 - PLQ-For This Child-Pink 24x7.5
The top of the plaque says "For This Child We Prayed". The Scripture quote from Luke 2:40 reads "And the child grew and became strong; he/she was filled with wisdom, and the grace of God was upon him/she". This quote from Luke refers to Christ, not to any infant.
I really rejoiced reading this. Thanks to Aaron K. for following up on this and for all of you that may have emailed or called them.

THIS was in a Christian bookstore? Yes...
This email came into Living Waters with the picture below.
"I saw this sign at the Family Christian Store in North Olmsted, Ohio and my jaw dropped. I included the original picture and a darker version so that the text is easier to read. The scripture is supposed to be Luke 2:40, talking about Jesus, but they felt that it would be okay to change a few words. When I asked the store associate about the sign, she just said that the scriptures vary based on the translation. I kindly informed her that ALL the translations put the gender of Jesus as male. Beware of what lies inside the "Christian" Bookstore!" Ryan
Sign reads: And the child grew and became strong; she was filled with wisdom , and the grace of God was upon her. Luke 2:40
What the bible says, "The Child continued to grow and become strong, increasing in wisdom; and the grace of God was upon Him." Luke 2:40
