Pure Truth

As a Christian, I take much courage in the fact that when this earthly body of mine is destroyed I will have a new resurrected body. A body that will not sin, a body that will not age, a body that will be whole, and perfect. But above that, I will obtain everlasting salvation through the work of Christ on the Cross and see my Savior, Jesus Christ, face to face.

Most people when asked, "Where do you want to go when you die?" They respond, "Heaven...I want to go to Heaven when I die." But the problem with people today is that 9 out of 10 want to go to Heaven they just don't want the God of the Bible to be there when they arrive. They don't want to bow to Him now, so why would they want to spend all of eternity with Him? To the unbeliever, the cross is foolishness. They reject it. Just like they did 2000 years ago. The same thing is happening today. It is a fairytale to the unbelieving mind (Prov 14:1).

But as a Christian, that's the only reason why I desire to be in Heaven. I want to see my risen Savior. I want to know Him more. To know Him fully. To see the One that I have talked to for so many years--yet have not seen. And then to finally see Him face to face. Wow. What a glorious truth!

"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead..." 1 Peter 1:3.

"After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to look at the tomb. There was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and, going to the tomb, rolled back the stone and sat on it. His appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were white as snow. The guards were so afraid of him that they shook and became like dead men.

The angel said to the women, "Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples: 'He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.' Now I have told you."

So the women hurried away from the tomb, afraid yet filled with joy, and ran to tell his disciples. Suddenly Jesus met them. "Greetings," he said. They came to him, clasped his feet and worshiped him. Then Jesus said to them, "Do not be afraid. Go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee; there they will see me." Matthew 28:1-10.

Happy resurrection weekend to you and Emilio from Craig and Sheila Boyd.

P.S. This morning I gave some of my "Don't Waste Your Dash" tracts to my auto mechanic. He has them on the counter in his waiting room.

Your statement, "To see the One that I have talked to for so many years--yet have not seen. And then to finally see Him face to face. Wow. What a glorious truth!"

Reminded me of one of my favorite quotes:
“Faith is to believe what you do not see; the reward of this faith is to see what you believe.” Saint Augustine

Trish, May the peace of our Lord be with you this Easter and always. :)
