Openly Homosexual US bishop Gene Robinson was forced to halt a sermon at a church in Putney, London, after being heckled

Gene Robinson, the openly gay Bishop of New Hampshire, was forced to halt his address after a one bold man repeatedly called him a heretic saying "REPENT".

Robinson, began his sermon at St Mary's Church in Putney, south-west London, by saying how sad he was that the worldwide Anglican communion was being split over the issue of homosexuality.

Watch the 1 min 43 second clip here.

I honestly don't know what to say. But I will say the man who opened his mouth in rebuke of the bishop sounds like one crying in the wilderness. Clearly there is a falling away of sound Christian doctorine and as unfortunate as it is this sort of situation may be seen more and more in the days to come.

God bless you sister, your brother in Christ

How is it that these people can just continue singing as if to try and quiet this guy down? That guy is very courageous though. I don't know if I'd have the guts to do that, sadly. I would sure want to be courageous like that man.

So, here are my thoughts...
Homosexuality is just like any other sin. Just like lying, murdering, etc. It's just that that sin is more obvious. You can just look at someone and see that they are homosexual in how they do. You can't look at someone and see if he's a murderer or liar. I know I sometimes have problems with the homosexuality in that I look at the people in disgust. I admit that. But, then I remind myself (constantly) that in God's eyes, lying and homosexuality and murder, is all sin. When we compare ourselves to each other we tend to think we are so good, but we are not good in God's eyes.
So, in that regard, we are all the same. Sinners.
And we all have to repent.

But, on the other hand...if this bishop follows God and preaches to His flock...and I don't know if he is born-again or not, but if you are preaching the Word....do you not read that homosexuality is one of the sins that is not acceptable to God?
I mean, he is openly gay, right? I assume that means he has a partner, because of what he was talking about in that video. What bible is he reading that he has no problem with being with another man?
If he is yet to repent, I can understand that. I also used to read and go to mass and still sinned before I was born-again.

I sure hope he is not already born-again and reading the Word and saying it's okay to be homosexual. That is serious. For someone to read the Word and clearly live against what it teaches and then come up in front of a group and teach them the way of God? That is hypocritical.

Either way, he needs prayer. As all sinners do.

And that guy is very bold to have stood up and told the bishop that he has to repent. I don't understand how others can not agree with him. At least, it didn't seem like they agreed with him because of how they just sat there. And why the clapping? Were they trying to make it impossible to hear the man speak out?

It sure is sad how people are not taking God's word seriously these days. I cannot imagine it getting any worse. I know it will, but I sure do not want to be able to imagine that.

May I suggest an article written by John MacArthur found at Pulpit Magazine.

God’s Plan for the Gay Agenda

Just search it, you'll find it.

I think what he did was good. I do not think his actions were out of order in the Spirit. I wish more people would take a stand in the Body of Christ aginst this and Purpose Driven, New Age and Ecunumeral (Sp) movements.

Dennis,
I agree, if yours or any "teacher" or "preacher" teaches or preaches any other gospel or doctorinal error, they should be rebuked. Depending on the situation, it should be done either in private or openly. I think this situation was one that was handled rightly, only the the man should have, by use of scripture, stated what the error is. We clearly see the error, but those in his hearing may and are likely blind to the truth.

To any closeted LGBT folks out there:

There is nothing wrong with your sexuality, any shame you feel is just a cultural thing, you can let it go and be loved for who you are.
