I like this perspective.
"Sweet Jesse came up to me
after church on Sunday and said that she had to scrape the ice off her
windshield this week after our unusual Texas “blizzard”; something she had done
far too many times while living up in Michigan. Oddly enough, she said the more
she scraped, the happier she became. I instantly added that to my mental list
of “strangest things I have ever heard.” But then she went on to explain that the
reason she became happier was because of the
fact that she had the strength to do it (remember she has Muscular Dystrophy).
Later it occurred to me that
we should be thankful that, by God’s grace, we are able to do the things we
don’t like to do. (Now I’m talking strangely, huh?) I don’t know about you, but
my list of things I don’t like to do is pretty long. Which now means that my
list of things I’m thankful for just got longer. :-)"
Not Jesse's car. ;-)
