Double Knee Surgery...

My husband Emilio Ramos had double knee surgery this week.

The first words out of his mouth to me in the hospital were, “it was a piece of cake.”

Translation: I want a piece of cake. ;-)

Oh and he told the nurse in recovery that he “Had to get to UNT tomorrow to preach.” She looked at him like he was crazy and said, “I think the Lord will understand if you don’t make it.”

The surgery went well. He is doing okay.

Please pray with us for a speedy recovery. He is swollen and very sore.

God bless you all.

Pastor Spit on By Angry Pagan Student During Open-Air Preaching at the University of North Texas

Denton, TX. Pastor Emilio Ramos of Heritage Grace Community Church in Frisco, TX, and author of ConvertTheBook.com preaches the gospel every week in the free speech area at the University of North Texas, usually without incident. But Wednesday, October 23rd was a different day altogether. There was a gas leak on campus and the authorities there re-directed students to their classes in such a way that they ended up walking right by Pastor Emilio. Soon the crowd doubled, then tripled, to about two hundred students who listened intently to the dialogue that Emilio was having with individual students. One student, who identified himself as "Pagan", took exception to Emilio’s message, came up behind him and spit on the back of his head. Shockingly, no one did or said anything. Shortly after, a few more students objected to his preaching and began to curse and circle him. A watchful police officer saw what was happening, quickly diffused the situation, and stayed until Pastor Emilio was done. This incident may have stopped many from such a task, but not Pastor Ramos; he has continued his preaching at local colleges in the DFW area, including the University of North Texas. To find out more about Emilio Ramos, visit www.HeritageGrace.com. He and his wife Trish live in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.

A wonderful life....

I've been studying the life of George Muller as of late and reading his autobiography has quite literally brought me to tears. Did you know that in 1875 George Muller turned 70 and began the missionary phase of his life? Wow...did you miss that? At the AGE of 70 he went to the mission field! Most people at the age of 70 are not thinking about mission work. But look what Muller did in the last 20 years of his life: He traveled over 200,000 miles to 40 countries and did so for almost from the age 70-90. This is a remarkable achievement considering two things: 1. His age and, 2. None of it was via an airplane. That was one busy bearded man.

Heavenly Treasure: The Bible

Here in our treasures more precious than gold; it is God’s word preserved for us- written down in days of old.
Words of wisdom, words of love, words to live by, sent from above;
Words that are fresh and new every day;
God promises that they are here to say stay.
Search for this treasure and you will find instruction and counsel that renews the mind; comfort joy and peace untold will come to you as God’s story unfolds.
Strength for today, hope for tomorrow, blessings are yours in times of joy and sorrow. So do not neglect this gift from above, for it is given by a God of love.
